32 Weeks

We are excited this week because Jered will be home on Friday! Although we've been lucky to be able to see him on the webcam almost every day, it will be so much better to have him home to hug. I had a OB check up this week. Emma is still head down (yay!), has a strong heartbeat around 156 bpm, and is measuring just a week ahead (this week anyway). I only have two more appointments before my due date, May 27 and June 10. It's hard to believe it's coming that soon. I got my pre-registration paperwork to fill out today and bring back next time, and my special "Stork" parking pass for closer parking at the hospital. We are excited to see our little girl, but I'm grateful that we have 7 more weeks to prepare (hopefully!).

31 Weeks - Abby's April Visit

Abby came to visit us for a long weekend and we had tons of fun. Friday night we went to Chuck E. Cheese's and Olive Garden after picking Abby up from the airport that morning. Saturday we drove up to Julian to experience the "other side" of Southern California - the side that has seasons, hehe. It was still early Spring there with most of the trees and flowers yet to bloom, although all the snow was gone this late in the year. On Sunday we went to church, then Abby and my friends suprised me with a baby shower! It was a very wonderful shower and I feel loved and blessed. I'll make a separate photo album for those pictures. Monday we went to Seaport Village. The Strouses met us there and we took the kids on the carousel and ate lunch together. After some ice cream, Abby, Will and I went on a "Seal" tour of the harbor. This is a bus/boat that does a land/sea tour. We saw the beautiful sights of San Diego Bay, North Island, sea lions, and even a whale! It was great. We had a nice seafood dinner at Anthony's on the bay before going home. We had a wonderful visit with Abby and we're so glad she came!

30 Weeks - 3D ultrasound

This weekend we had a 3D/4D ultrasound done. It was very exciting to see little Emma. She looks a lot like her big brother, especially with the chubby cheeks. She had her hands up in front of her face most of the time and played with her nose and mouth a lot. We saw her with her eyes open, which the ultrasound tech told us is unusual, especially for more than a second or two. She also yawned and moved around alot. Her heartbeat was about 155 bpm and her weight was estimated at 4lbs, so the same as Will's weight when we had his ultrasound at 31 wks. This isn't a big deal until you read on Babycenter.com that "This week (30 wks) your baby weighs almost 3 lbs"...ummm, lol. The tech also said, "Wow look at that tummy" and "She's got a good sized head too!" (just what I want to hear, hehe). Her gender was confirmed, so I guess I can wash her bedding and clothes now! We also picked up her dresser today at the store and Jered is going to put it together before he goes out of town next week. Here are some pictures from the ultrasound.

Happy Easter! (29 Weeks)

We had a wonderful Easter weekend! Very busy, but a lot to be thankful for and celebrate. Jered and I were able to be a part of the Easter choir at church, so we had rehearsal not only this morning for an hour and Saturday for a couple of hours, but also last Sunday for a couple of hours after church. I was unable to get someone to watch Will for these rehearsals, so he came along with us and sat in his stroller while we sang. Not many 2.5 yr olds that will sit in their stroller (happily too!) for a couple of hours at a time! He even sang a lot of the songs along with us from his stroller and kept the choir smiling. We're very proud of him.

This morning we had a great service at church and got to fully celebrate the great gift that God gave us by sending his Son to die for our sins. Christ is risen - He is risen indeed! This afternoon, we had friends over for a potluck/Easter egg hunt. We had a pretty good turn out with 10 kids and 10 adults. The kids had a blast playing together indoors and out, and the adults had a good time too (although maybe a little less exercise!). We are so blessed to have such great friends.

We had a little excitement at the beginning of our get together - an earthquake! It orginated from Baja California and was a 7.2 on the Richter scale. We definitely felt it making waves through the house and rattling stuff around. Thankfully, no harm done.

Tomorrow Jered is off work again (yay!) and is taking me to the hospital for my 3 hour glucose test (not so yay). We'll leave Will in the daycare, so at least he can have fun. I'm glad Jered can take me because it really messed me up last time I had this done and definitely need a ride home!

28 Weeks

I had a check up this week and another glucose tolerance test. The check up went well, everything measuring fine, and Emma's heartbeat in the 140's. Hopefully they'll call with my glucose test results tomorrow. Will is doing well, talking bunches and learning new stuff every day. He impressed our friend at dinner tonight by reading the letters off the menu. He just really loves his letters!

Jered was out of town Mon-Wed this week and when Will and I were driving around, Will told me "Jered's at work." I said, "What was that honey?" He said, "Jered's at work Mama." I started laughing. Then he said, "Mandy!" I asked him if I was Mandy. He giggled and said, "No, you're Mama!" He's also been saying, "Mama, you're funny" a lot this week. Not sure when I became a comedian, but he sure seems to think I'm entertaining!
