We hosted a pumpkin patch/halloween party for our church's young families tonight. We walked over to the pumpkin station across the street from our house. The kids enjoyed the rides and picked out pumpkins to carve. We came back to our house and had a big potluck with lots of yummy food and desserts. Then the kids did a small craft project, after which the dads carved pumpkins with the kids. It was a fun event!
First a video of Emma saying "trick or treat" (or trick tree as she says).
Another video of trick or treat, but with a hilarious funny (and classic) Emma face. This is her fall back funny face and it cracks us all up!
Emma learned how to climb up on the couch this week, and it's a real milestone for her. Now she climbs up, Will hides in the indoor tree, and then they play peek a boo. It's really cute, although Emma kept stopping to watch one of her favorite shows "Yo Gabba Gabba" (I swear it hypnotizes kids becuase they all get entranced when it comes on!).
Last weekend was the annual Fire Station Open House at the station across the street from Will's school. We took the kids and they had fun. Will got to put on a kid's size fireman outfit and drag the hoses with Jered, and climb around inside the firetruck and ambulance. Emma was really into the fire safety puppet show. We couldn't tell if she was super enthralled or scared, but she didn't cry, so we figured she was ok! Both kids liked the "fire truck" wagon ride the best. Will had Fall break this week, so we got to enjoy the train museum, the park, and other things we don't have time for when he's usually in school.
For Will's 4th birthday, Baba sent him money to take a helicopter tour of San Diego with Jered. They were finally about to go recently, and both boys had a great time! Will even got to take his pictures of the flight to school for show and tell, because conveniently the letter of the week that week at school was "H"!
At the end of September we went to the Khaki Ball to celebrate the end of induction season and the new chiefs in our RCPOA. Jered had a change of command that morning, so I also got a good picture of him holding Will in his dress whites.
