KOA "Glamping"

The weekend of August 1, we went camping (or "glamping" as Jered named it) at the KOA campground in Williamsburg, VA. We had a 1 room cabin with AC and a basic TV, but no kitchen or water facilities. The cabin had a wonderful deck with a picnic table and was set in the woods at the back of the campground. Friday night we checked in and got everything set up. They showed movies under the stars each night, and we watched Winnie the Pooh Friday night. Saturday morning we went to the charity pancake breakfast at the community pool house/game room. After breakfast, we played with the life-sized chess set, visited the swings at the park, then got a sluicing kit and the kids got to pan for gems and gold. We went swimming in the afternoon, then roasted hot dogs and s'mores for supper at our cabin's fire ring. Sunday morning we drove back home. It was a fun weekend. The kids keep asking when we're going back, and Jered said "we have to do this again before we move." So it was a hit, and we all enjoyed our glamping experience at the KOA.
