22 Weeks

Happy Valentine's Day! We had a nice weekend to celebrate together. Since we just went on a date about 2 weeks ago, we didn't get a baby sitter, but spent the time as a family instead. Friday Jered was off work, so we went to Olive Garden in the afternoon and then went by Michael's to pick up my present. Saturday evening, we walked over to the shopping center a block or so from our house and ate Chinese food and frozen yogurt. It was really fun to be able to walk to dinner and enjoy our wonderful San Diego weather. Sunday we ordered in pizza and watched a couple of movies. When Will went to bed, Jered and I rented The Time Traveller's Wife. And even though Valentine's was over, we had a great dinner last night too. The weather warmed up into the 80s yesterday and Jered grilled steaks for dinner, which we ate with Caesar salad and fresh strawberry shortcakes for dessert.

Tonight we converted Will's crib into a toddler bed. We wanted to do it after Christmas to prepare for the baby so mommy wouldn't have to lift 2 out of cribs, and since my back is back to its ornery self we figured this is a good time. Will also turned 2.5 this month, so it's just about the perfect time we'd discussed. We were a little worried about him falling out the first few nights, so we put his crib bumpers on for extra cushion until he gets used to a regular bed. He went to sleep right away and so far so good! We can't believe how much our little boy is growing up. This week we also ordered the bedding for baby girl's room. I included a picture off the internet - hopefully we'll get the real thing delivered soon so we can set it up!

It's a Girl!

We had our level 2 anatomy scan today. The baby is healthy and all the parts are there, and it's a girl! She weighs 1lb 1oz and is pretty long already with her feet up over my ribs! Here are some pictures of our ultrasound.

21 Weeks - Super Bowl Party

Well, I'll wait until Thursday to post the belly picture so it can go along with our (hopefully) big announcement about the baby's gender (ultrasound at 1:50pm PST!!). Here are some pictures of our Super Bowl Party we hosted for our church's Young Family Ministry. We had some sick folks and such that had to stay home last minute, but still had a great time with our friends both new and old! We are so happy to have a home we can open up to others and that is so good for parties!

20 Weeks

We went on a date tonight! My Gym (or Monkey Gym as Will calls it) had a parent's night out from 5-9pm, so Jered and I dropped him off and went for a long dinner at Cheesecake Factory. No movies that ended in time to pick him up, but I'm glad because by 8:30, I was tired and ready to go home! I've had a bad cold this week and my fever just broke this morning. We enjoyed our long dinner and walked to B&N's afterward and each got a new book. I asked Jered which book I should get and he said, "The long one...duh!" because since I've been sick, I've read 5 books this week already! He wanted me to attempt to get our money's worth out of the new book, haha.

This week the baby has started kicking a whole lot and I can feel it all day now, on and off. It's a reassuring feeling. I also got my first glucose test back this week - no diabetes yet, yay! They'll probably test again in a few weeks, but it was good news for now. I also got my lvl 2 ultrasound scheduled (the one where they tell you the gender) for February 11. So that's exciting! Hopefully the baby will cooperate with the camera :) I'm still on Zofran for my nausea. I tried to not take it twice recently and both days I was throwing up until I took the tablet, so I will take my doc's advice and stay on the medicine for now!

Will playing with his new Lego set. He looks like he wants to say, "Mama, can't you see I'm busy!"

Jered's new digital camouflage uniform.
Fresh avocados and tomatoes from our garden! The tomatoes are out of this world and I've been craving them often lately, so yay!
